Ear Microsuction is a procedure performed with the aid of an operating microscope and a finely calibrated low-pressure suction device. It is quick, effective, and the safest modern procedure to remove ear wax and foreign bodies from the ear canal.

Our highly experienced and qualified Ear Nurse Katie Johnston has treated literally thousands of satisfied clients within Hawke’s Bay. With the most modern equipment available, she gently clears ears blocked with wax or other foreign bodies and assesses the ear canal for a number of other conditions that may require further treatment. She is known for being gentle, knowledgeable, professional, and compassionate to her client’s needs.

Katie was trained as an Ear Nurse in Melbourne, Australia, at Crystal Clear Ears, completing an accredited Australian nursing postgraduate qualification in micro-suction cleaning of ears and Aural Hygiene. She has now worked as an Ear Nurse for 8 years and is passionate about ears and about helping people with ear issues. Katie is a member of the National Ear Nurse Specialist Group Inc. Society NZ.

As a part of her job, Katie collaborates with Ear Specialists, Ear Therapists, Audiologists, and GPs who routinely refer their clients to her for her expertise in Ear Microsuction and ongoing ear maintenance.

Clinic Prices for Ear Wax Removal

As of the 8th of January 2024, the following prices apply:

Adults $60

(Aged 17 years up)
Children $45

(Aged 0-16 years)
War Pension FREE
ACC $41

(with hearing funding already approved)

Eftpos or Cash payment is required to be paid on the day of appointment in the clinic. All payments include GST.

Cancellation Policy:

A $20.00 charge will apply for bookings that are not attended without providing the clinic with a minimum of 3 hour’s notice before the scheduled appointment time. If you cannot make the appointment, please call reception on (06) 650 5090 or email us at info@earcleaningclinic.co.nz
